What is Neurofeedback Therapy?
Neurofeedback, also known as EEG Biofeedback, is guided brain exercises that increase brain function; therefor, allowing the brain to work more efficiently.

How does it work?
Neurofeedback, also called EEG Biofeedback is a state-of-the-art, non-invasive, drugless method for teaching the brain to function in a more balanced and healthful way. A simple and pleasant learning modality that can help shift the way the brain produces and distributes its electrical energy. Four divisions of electrical impulses made by our brain, Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta are called “Frequency Bands”. These Frequency Bands tell us which parts of your brain are active and which frequency bands the brain should be using to complete a given task, activity or should be most active during different states of mind. Individuals are connected to a computer using wires and sensors, which monitores the brainwave activity. The software automatically detects when the brainwaves are properly ordered and feeds that information back to the patient in real time. The feedback appears in the form of a game, movie, or sound which signals to the patient that the brainwaves are becoming more ordered. The patient’s own brainwaves actually control the game, movie or sound activity, and viewing of these changes helps the brain learn how to improve its own regulation of more efficient brain wave patterns.

What are
the side effects?
There are absolutely NO SIDE EFFECTS with this therapy. In fact, the Food and Drug Administration recognizes that neurofeedback has NEVER produced a serious side effect since it was first discovered over 40 years ago.

What are your staff’s credentials?
All staff are trained by our owner, Melissa Hergert, BCN and have at least the minimum industry requirements to perform neurofeedback training as a neurofeedback technician. No medical degrees are required to perform QEEG brain mapping or neurofeedback training.
What are your owners’ credentials?
The CEO, Melissa Hergert, is Board Certified In Neurofeedback Therapy. She founded Brain Train Centers September 2013 in Marietta Georgia. Over the years she has expanded to many other states. She and her team provide the highest level of Neurofeedback Therapy to help the community with their mental health needs. Melissa and all her partners of Brain Train Centers across the country are determined to help as many families as possible improve their brain health. Her passion is to educate others about the healing power of their brain naturally and efficiently.

What is your cost?
Each Brain Train Center location has their own pricing and is also customized to the client’s recommendation of care after a brain map is performed. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to select which location you would like to inquire about and their pricing. All of our office’s regular pricing of a QEEG brain map runs around $500 and neurofeedback training sessions are regularly $125 per session. Each office may have a different special offer running so please contact the one closest to you to check their current offers.
Do you bill through insurance?
We do not bill through insurance or Medicaid/Medicare. We have had some clients have success with reimbursement of paid services by using these cpt codes: 95957 for QEEG brain mapping and 90901 for neurofeedback brain training. We do not have an NPI number and are therefore unable to be “in/out of network” for providers nor do we require referrals.
How can I pay?
We accept payments through HSA, FSA, all major credit cards, cash, and a medical credit card called Advance Care Card. You may see if you qualify for no interest payments at www.advancecarecard.com
How do I support Veterans and other heroes?
We have a non-profit called Healing Our Heroes that helps provide low cost and/or free neurofeedback services (as funding permits) to Veterans, active military, first responders, fire fighters, police officers, and EMT/EMS.
